My grandfather died this morning. He had been sick for nearly a year and would have periods of being really sick and nearly dying. He's had health problems for decades (five heart attacks, cancer, and a lot more) and a day or so before Christmas, he took a turn for the worse. People said their final good-byes. I didn't go to see him because I can't stand seeing him so weak.
My father has been at the hospital with him day and night, and my grandmother came up to see him this morning (they divorced a while ago, but still love each other very much) and said good-bye. On their ways home, he died. He went peacefully, which is a true relief considering all the suffering he went through.
I miss him a lot and something that I feel very bad about is that he didn't get to see the National Championship and watch Alabama kick Texas's butt. It's really depressing since he was so excited about it. I also really wish I could have finished writing a book for him because he always asked me about my writing and encouraged me.
There's a lot more to say about him, but it's really depressing me. He's the first person that I really knew and loved that has died and I miss him so much.
Because of all of this, I probably won't be doing too much for a while.

I'm very sorry to hear this and you're in my prayers. It's very tough to see a love one suffer for so long. Please take all the time you need. =)

I'm so sorry! Of course it is more important now to take the time to mourn, so just make sure you don't overwork yourself until you feel better. You're in my prayers, Custard! <3
